Work Environment\n

This role is designed to be primarily remote, allowing you the flexibility to provide care from your preferred location while still being an integral part of our committed team. Our work hours are structured from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some degree of flexibility needed to meet patient requirements.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments, taking into account each patient’s unique history and experiences to tailor individualized treatment plans.

• Implement a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions suited to the diverse needs of your patients, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, focusing on promoting resilience and coping mechanisms for various mental health challenges.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

• Provide critical crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, employing effective de-escalation strategies.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, potential treatment options, and community resources tailored to their cultural backgrounds.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in alignment with legal and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system effectively.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case discussions, and cultural competency training to continuously enhance your therapeutic approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse group of individuals, including those from ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrants facing unique mental health challenges. Your ability to engage with and support patients in an understanding and inclusive manner will be fundamental to their treatment success and overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.

• A solid understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and the importance of cultural competence in therapy.

• Demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy using culturally responsive approaches.

• Strong crisis intervention skills, with the capacity to remain composed in high-stress situations.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
