Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a day shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and no new graduates.

Details

• Respiratory therapy unit covering Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) settings
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45am-7:15pm)
• Weekend coverage scheduled as needed
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and IMV
• Administers medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer delivery systems
• Performs airway management including intubation/extubation assist, suctioning, and tracheostomy care

Requirements

• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• CRT or RRT certification required
• State license required if applicable; compact or LA license required in hand upon submission (Allied candidates may be submitted with pending license and must apply within 72 hours of acceptance)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Experienced RT required; new graduates will not be considered
• Experience with arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation required
• Experience with chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and patient transport required
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered as long as they are experienced RTs
• Candidates must live over 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• No call-in requirement for this position
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• All requested RTO must be listed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• 2 Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract (Charge RNs not accepted)
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the facility for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended on-site presence during emergency events
