Accounting Technician - Accounts Payable

United Talent Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Technician for a temporary opportunity in Huntington, WV. This position will provide support to the accounting department, primarily assisting with accounts payable processing, invoice vouchering, data entry, and general clerical responsibilities.


The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, experience working with accounting software or operating systems such as Oracle, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced office environment.


Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience
• Position Type: Temporary
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day
• Flexible Start Times: Shifts may include 6:30 AM-3:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
• Required Core Hours: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM daily

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice matching, coding, and vouchering.
• Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests for accuracy.
• Enter, upload, and maintain invoice information within the accounting system.
• Assist with general ledger (GL) coding and payment processing.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and accounting documentation.
• Track expenses and assist with expense reports.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice inquiries.
• Perform data entry, filing, document management, and additional clerical duties as assigned.
• Support the accounting team in meeting daily deadlines and maintaining accurate financial records.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong computer skills are required.
• Experience using Oracle or a comparable accounting or enterprise operating system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Previous accounts payable, accounting, or related administrative experience.
• Familiarity with invoice processing, vouchering, and general accounting procedures.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment

• Office-based position involving regular computer use, data entry, and clerical tasks.
• Requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods and occasionally move throughout the office.
