Environmental Health Specialist

Environmental Health Specialist Job Summary: The Town of Prosper seeks a qualified individual to perform health and safety inspections and enforce health and food safety codes for commercial swimming pools, spas, and nonfixed food establishments. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Health and Code Compliance Manager. Responsibilities: Conduct health and safety inspections of food establishments and swimming pools. Enforce public health and sanitation codes in Texas. Review plans and specifications of commercial pools and spas. Maintain inspection records and track noncompliance issues. Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. At least two (2) years of experience in food establishment and pool inspection. Valid Texas Registered Sanitarian license at time of application. Pool Operator Certification within one year of employment. Knowledge of computers, hardware, and software for inspection data management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and effective oral and written communication. Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, and MVR check. Valid Texas Driver’s License. Reasonable accommodations can be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
