Observe pressure and vacuum gauges, adjust controls, test for gas leaks, and secure insulation. Replace defective control components and repair installed units, including large air conditioners up to twenty tons. Perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Utilize wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings for repairs and maintenance. Install and clean air and water filters, and program thermostats. Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts. Communicate with customers about repairs, determine needs, and explain additional work. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring completed work meets quality standards. Diagnose HVAC issues, propose solutions, and coordinate repair estimates with schedulers. Qualifications Associate’s degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years of HVAC experience. Must obtain and maintain an HVAC and/or EPA certification; journeyman certification preferred. Must obtain and maintain an “L” level security clearance with the Department of Energy. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Capability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours. Routine climbing in and out of vehicles and stairs. Perseverance to work under pressure for extended periods. Additional Requirements Valid state driver’s license with coverage under Tessera’s insurance. Real‑ID compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ID) for federal installation access. Background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
