Senior Business Analyst — eDiscovery & Process Automation (Hybrid)

NIRA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a U.S. Department of Justice digital evidence management and eDiscovery program serving U.S. Attorneys' Offices nationwide. The analyst will serve as the bridge between legal-operations stakeholders and the technical delivery team - eliciting requirements, mapping and optimizing evidence-handling and litigation workflows, and identifying automation opportunities across evidence intake, review, and production.ResponsibilitiesElicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements from attorneys, paralegals, litigation support staff, and program stakeholders; translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria for Agile deliveryMap current-state evidence and eDiscovery workflows (intake, processing, review, production) and design optimized future-state processesIdentify, prioritize, and specify process automation opportunities; partner with engineers to implement workflow automation and measure efficiency gainsDefine integration requirements between the evidence platform and eDiscovery review tools (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw), case management, and ITSM systemsDevelop process documentation, SOPs, and training materials; support user acceptance testing, including test scenario development and defect triageAnalyze adoption telemetry and operational metrics to recommend continuous improvementsSupport program cadence: sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, status reporting, and risk/issue trackingRequired Qualifications8 years of business analysis experience, including at least 2 years supporting eDiscovery, litigation support, or legal technology programsWorking knowledge of the EDRM lifecycle and hands-on experience with eDiscovery platforms (Relativity, Everlaw, or comparable)Demonstrated process improvement and automation experience - process mapping (BPMN or similar), workflow automation requirements, and measurable efficiency outcomesExperience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation in Agile environmentsStrong facilitation and communication skills across legal and technical audiencesU.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DOJ High-Risk Public Trust (Tier 4) background investigationBachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related fieldPreferred QualificationsFederal experience, ideally with DOJ, EOUSA, or law enforcement clientsFamiliarity with digital forensics tools (e.g., Cellebrite) and chain-of-custody requirementsExperience in FedRAMP-authorized cloud/SaaS environmentsProficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, or Tableau)NIRA offers competitive compensation packages including employer-paid health, life and disability insurance coverages, 401(k) plans with generous employer matchingJob type:
