Retail Store Manager I SOC 41, Band 3 – Position #19276. Annual salary range: $17.81 per hour to $23.39 per hour. Summary Perform routine supervisory duties assisting the operation of a New Hampshire Retail Outlet Store. Deliver exceptional customer service, maximize profits, and ensure compliance with all New Hampshire Liquor Commission rules and policies. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent combination of 1 year of education after high school and 1 year of work experience. Valid driver’s license. Ability to lift materials up to 25 pounds continuously and lift cases of alcohol up to 60 pounds. Availability to work a schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend hours. Preferred Qualifications One year of experience in a public-facing retail or cash‑handling position. After-Hire Requirements None. Career Advancement Opportunities In‑band advancement not available. Broad group level advancement not available. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service, building a loyal customer base and enhancing the reputation of the NH Liquor Commission. Act as store manager in a low‑volume retail environment; supervise personnel up to the Retail Salesperson III level. In a large‑volume store, assist the Retail Store Manager II with daily operations such as opening/closing, merchandising, deposits, and inventory. Provide routine training and guidance to all store employees for state liquor store operations. Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels, anticipating sale items. Calculate sales transactions, prepare and make bank deposits. Review and interpret computer print‑outs, making recommendations to the Store Manager. Supervise and guide store personnel in performing their duties. Serve as a Retail Salesperson when not assisting the Store Manager. Share responsibility for all employees and fill in for a higher‑level Store Manager for short periods. Occasionally work in other stores, requiring travel to store locations.
