Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Multiple Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: Relevant certifications as required Must-Have: - Must be available for all shifts and days of the week. - Must work 40 hours per week. - Must be punctual and on the floor ready to work at the start of the scheduled shift. - Must have no upcoming scheduling conflicts such as vacations or appointments. Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients in a correctional or similar facility. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and ordered treatment plans. Monitors patients in locked or isolated settings at timely intervals. Provides immediate medical attention to emergencies, including administering first aid and arranging transportation to emergency rooms. Counsels patients regarding medical referrals as needed. May schedule, assign, and review work of lower-level staff. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains or orients new employees. Responsible for all healthcare needs of assigned patients, including making rounds and evaluating care needed. Administers medications, including narcotics, and renders all direct nursing care as required. Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, and CPR. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs healthcare staff assigned to the area.
