Quality EngineerThe Quality Engineer is a critical role that is responsible for ensuring the highest quality products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customers.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesAnalyze defect data and implement data driven corrective actionsDrive continued improvement of the quality system and manufacturing processesDocument, update and present corrective actions and process improvements to internal and external audiencesReview, interpret, and ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, engineering drawings, customer contract requirements, and product test proceduresLead containment efforts of non-conforming materialInterface within the quality team and across the various functionsCommunicate directly with customers and suppliersReview, revise and improve manufacturing work instructions/routers resulting in measurable impactInitiate and review engineering design changesProvide return to print engineering dispositions for non-conforming productCoordinate dispositions for non-conforming productSupport in the preparation for and execution of external and internal auditsTreat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.Other duties as assignedRequired Education and ExperienceRequires practical knowledge of electronics manufacturing (cable, assembly, test)Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior related experienceGraduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experienceIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.Desired Skills and ExperienceAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practical experienceExperience with IPC-620, J-STD-001, Space Addendum, NASA-STD-8739.4Lean/Six Sigma training (preference is certified green/black belt)Understanding of IS09001/AS9100 and related QMS standardsExperience using RCCA tools such as FMEA, Pareto, 5 Why, 8D, and FishboneUnderstanding of Windows environment including standard Microsoft Office tools is requiredPhysical RequirementsSedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
