Our client, a publicly traded, commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, has retained us to identify a Senior Legal Counsel to join its U.S. legal organization.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role partnering with senior/executive leaders across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality and Business Development. The position will provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel across the development, commercialization and lifecycle of innovative therapies, with particular emphasis on complex commercial transactions, healthcare compliance and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Regulatory and other functions on product development and commercialization activities.
• Lead the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including manufacturing/supply, distribution, licensing, collaboration, clinical research, CRO/CDMO and strategic partnership agreements.
• Support business development transactions, including licensing, development/commercialization partnerships and M&A.
• Advise on FDA regulatory and healthcare compliance matters, including advertising and promotion, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, Sunshine/Open Payments and related requirements.
• Provide counsel on privacy, data governance and related compliance matters.
• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership, balancing legal risk with practical business objectives.

Ideal Background:

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active U.S. bar membership.
• 7+ years of legal experience with meaningful pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or regulated healthcare experience either in-house or at a firm.
• Strong experience with complex commercial contracting, healthcare compliance and U.S. life sciences regulatory matters.
• Experience supporting drug development through commercialization/product launch.
