What You Will Do: As a PICU RN, you will deliver exceptional patient care to children with complex medical needs, including diagnoses such as MS, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and neuro post-op conditions. You'll be responsible for managing high-acuity cases, titrating medications like pressors and insulin, performing advanced skills such as CVL placement, wound care, and telemetry monitoring. Required Skills:
- Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-training to Adult ICU and Med/Tele preferred
- Proficiency in PIV, CVL, telemetry, wound care, and drains
- Ability to titrate pressors, insulin, sedatives, and pain medication drips
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Valid RN license and current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Comfort with phlebotomy and working with advanced medical equipment
- Experience with Neuro, OR, or Stepdown units
- NRP certification
- Prior travel or float experience to various ICU settings
- Knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR and Alaris IV pumps
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Over 2 years of PICU experience, with previous experience in adult ICU or Med/Tele desirable
- Must be open to working 4 days one week and 3 days the next, including every other weekend
- Will work 2-3 holidays per year
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, family-oriented, traveler-friendly environment
