Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity Labor and Delivery nursing care in a high-volume unit averaging 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 beds
• Circulate in the OR during deliveries (4 OR suites); this is a hard-stop requirement for all candidates
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing full newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
• Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, including potential float to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby care

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment; no exceptions
• Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR — hard-stop requirement
• Demonstrated ability to perform newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard-stop requirement
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
• Current, valid BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
• Active RN license; compact license accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience with midwifery clients, high-risk OB populations, and community care or substance recovery-support patient populations
