This is a direct hire position for 1st shift.Senior Quality Inspector Responsibilities:Perform mechanical inspections with hand tools and CMM using established procedures and specificationsManage and improve calibration program along with calibration of mechanical inspection hand tools such as: calipers, pin gauges, and height gaugesTrain, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Quality Inspectors and production personnelAssist in establishing effective inspection sampling plansInvestigate and resolve product quality problemsRecognize improvement opportunities and initiate appropriate actions to streamline processesAssist in establishing and maintaining QC metricsParticipate in 5SInterface effectively with other job functions and suppliersPromote a positive influence to foster excellence and positive critical behaviorsRead and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOP's)Analyze inspection dataAccurately record inspection results and maintain quality reports and documents in multiple computer applicationsIdentify, document, and coordinate nonconformance control activities including identification, recording, disposition, supplier communication, sorting, rework, and resolutionSupport root cause investigations and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) as neededSupport and perform assigned project-based workParticipate in internal/external audits and continuous improvement projects as neededEnsure adherence to ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and other applicable regulationsMaintain a safe, neat and orderly work environmentEnsure and follow safety requirements and standardsRequirements for Senior Quality Inspector:High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field preferredQuality Certifications such as ASQ-CQIA, CQI, CQT, Calibration, or Green BeltAt least five years of working in a manufacturing environmentAt least five years of mechanical inspection experience including CMMExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawingsBasic level experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel) and other enterprise softwareExperience working in a Quality Management System controlled environment (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, TS 16949) and/or an FDA regulated environment, preferably in medical device preferredExperience with basic statistics preferredExperience with Lean tools such as 5S, standard work, waste, error proofing, or process mapping preferredAbility to lift up to 50lbsManual dexteritySkill and ability in CMM operationMath proficiency sufficient to perform tasks such as inspection calculations, basic statistical analysis, and creating credit memosSkill and ability to read and interpret mechanical drawing including GD&TAbility to calibrate inspection tools such as calipers, pin gauges, and height gaugesWorking knowledge of problem-solving tools such as is/is not, fishbone, pareto, Five Why, and correlationDetailed oriented with the ability to analyze data and draw conclusionsPossess effective written and oral communication skills.Basic proficiency using computer applications (Word, Excel, enterprise software)IND050 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
