Medical Assistant

The position performs administrative and certain clinical duties. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed.

The position is with the Community Health Center, under the Main Clinic program. It reports to the RN Supervisor and is available in full-time or part-time. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evening and Saturday clinic coverage. The wage range is $21.50 to $27.37 hourly, depending on experience and internal equity.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, medical assistant certification, or one year of patient care experience. Knowledge of customer service, patient care, administrative procedures, and confidentiality is required. The position involves constant standing, walking, and reaching, occasional sitting, kneeling, or crawling, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
