Sr. Electrical Test Engineer

We develop the wide variety of computing, sensing and actuation, power, and communications systems that are at the core of our automation system. We’re looking for a broadly experienced individual to apply their electrical engineering and software automation skills to develop robust test solutions for complex hardware in a safety-critical environment. This is a clean-slate opportunity to grow our primitive test operations into a production worthy operation.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of automated test equipment systems for functional, environmental qualification, and manufacturing acceptance testsAnalyze test results to identify failure modes, lead root cause investigations, and drive improvements back into designsAuthor, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reportsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate successful testing campaignsDrive continuous improvement to test system infrastructure, processes, and practicesBasic Success CriteriaBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience8+ years of full cycle electronics hardware test or development experience in a professional environmentStrong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentalsExtensive experience with test equipment, measurement techniques, and processes for hardware verification Experience with programming/scripting languages (C, C++, Python) and ability to develop and maintain test softwarePreferred CriteriaAdvanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineeringFamiliarity with formal industry test standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461/810, or similarExperience developing and simulating complex and manufacturable printed circuit board assemblies using tools such as Altium Designer and SPICEExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as a leader of a high performing teamThis role provides an opportunity to own a wide variety of testing that is essential in verifying the safe and reliable operation of the next generation of avionics for unmanned aircraft systems. This role also has the potential to lead into a leadership role in a player/coach capacity.This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA. Must be willing to travel 30% of the time.The estimated salary range for this position is $188,000 to $250,000/annual salary + cash and stock option awards + benefits.
