Travel Physical Therapist - Outpatient

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of orthopedic experience to work in a critical access, Magnet-designated hospital setting.

Job Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a critical access, Magnet-designated hospital,
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with some flexibility in hours,
• No weekend or on-call requirements,
• No floating required outside of scope,
• Uses Cerner for charting,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required,
• Current BLS certification required,
• IL state PT license required and must be active and in hand at time of application (license required if applicable),
• Orthopedic and outpatient clinic experience required,
• Experience with adaptive/assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, pain assessment, sensory response, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital signs,
• Experience with orthopedic conditions including ankle sprains, cervicalgia, DDD/DJD, frozen shoulder, gait training, hip/knee injuries, low back pain, lumbar traction, myofascial release, osteoarthritis, post-op spinal/shoulder/cervical surgery, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, spinal conditions/mobilization, and total hip/knee replacement,
• Post stroke rehabilitation experience required,
• Modality experience with cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound required,
• Documentation experience including assessment, discharge, evaluation, long/short term goals, plan of care, and time management,
• Billing experience with commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A/B, private pay, and worker's compensation,
• Cerner charting experience preferred,
• Manual therapy certification required; dry needling certification preferred,
• Must be in-state at least 3 business days prior to compliance deadline to meet fingerprinting requirements,

• Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation for outpatient orthopedic and post-stroke patients,
• Provides home exercise programs, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention education,
• Business casual attire or plain solid scrubs accepted,

• Open to first-time travelers,
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction,
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler,
• RTO requests of 5 or fewer non-holiday days are generally accommodated,
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays,
• Travel pairs are not accepted
