Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, and prevent disability following illness or injury. Key Responsibilities: Conducts assessments, develops individualized therapy programs using exercises, manual techniques, and modalities like heat, water, electricity, and ultrasound. Guides patients through active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait, and functional training, utilizing equipment such as generators and therapy machines. Manages wound care, instructs on device use (wheelchairs, braces, prosthetics), and educates patients on postural control and ongoing exercises. Performs initial and re-evaluations, documents progress, and may supervise support staff or train students and workers in therapy techniques. Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), licensure as a Physical Therapist, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
