In our time of Company growth, we are seeking a Cardiology and Gastroenterology Operating Room Nurse (RN).

Work Location: Bradenton, FL.

As part of this role, you will:

Perform a comprehensive assessment of the patient's clinical condition and psycho-social needs, including caregiver needs, during the perioperative period
Observe behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; take appropriate action and document
Demonstrate knowledge of drugs, actions, and side effects of medications administered
Protect the patient's right to privacy
Provide the patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriate
Communicate clearly and concisely, assessment and reassessment of the patient in charting and with notification of surgeon and/or anesthesiologist as necessary; collaborates with all other health-care personnel and physicians in the delivery of coordinated patient care
Provide the patient with explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriate
Assess patient's physical and emotional response(s) to treatment(s); observes behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications, takes appropriate action, and documents interventions and response to interventions

Requirements

What you need to bring to this role:

RN in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing is required
Minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred
Cardiology and Gastroenterology OR experience
Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute is required
Cardio Department ONLY: ACLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety Institute is required
Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency preferred
Certification as an Operating Room Nurse (CNOR) preferred
3-5 years of experience as a nurse providing perioperative care preferred
Previous experience in Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, or Invasive Vascular experience preferred
Exceptional knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, as well as sterile techniques preferred
Proficiency in recordkeeping and patient management systems, such as eHospital and PatientTrak, preferred
