Telecounselor Associate New Season Treatment Centers has been a leading national health care service provider of outpatient treatment centers that specialize in providing safe, quality, and best‑in‑class care for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder ("OUD"). We operate in over 70 treatment centers across multiple states offering medication‑assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management. Reports To Telecounseling Supervisor Job Code 155 Department Telecounseling FLSA Non‑exempt Direct Reports None Job Summary Telecounselors provide individual counseling services via a HIPAA‑compliant synchronous video platform to patients within New Season’s clinics across the United States. Telecounselors work within a multidisciplinary treatment team and are responsible for patient, program, and state‑related clinical documentation. They may be eligible for remote work arrangements at the discretion of program leadership. Essential Functions Conduct individual counseling with assigned patients via synchronous video communication. Educate patients on all aspects of treatment, related health issues, and steps to recovery. Maintain a performance standard of 50% of hours worked in direct one‑on‑one patient contact each month. Complete patient telecounseling screening, psychosocials, DAP notes, individualized treatment plans, reassessments, and all other program‑related documentation within required time frames. Assist patients with intake, admission, discharge, and transfer paperwork. Document patient progress and complete organization and state‑mandated forms in the electronic health record and other required systems. Maintain file compliance, making timely corrections for any out‑of‑compliance documents. Identify clinical and case‑management needs and work to address those needs. Maintain communication with assigned clinic leadership and support staff; respond to all emails within one business day and keep a live updated shared calendar for patient scheduling. Report patient abuse, neglect, and exploitation as required. Report patient grievances as required. Coordinate urine drug screens with clinic liaisons and complete any required documentation. Learn and understand the General, program, and state‑specific policy and procedure manuals. Ensure compliance with 42 CFR Part 2, 45 CFR Parts 160 & 164, and other federal regulations. Obtain and maintain proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements and program needs. Participate in preparation for surveys and inspections by CARF, the State, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, and other agencies. Attend all staff meetings and assigned clinic treatment team meetings as scheduled. Participate in individual and group supervisions as scheduled. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and Colonial Management Group, LP rules and policies. Act in the best interests of the program and company, protecting proprietary data and rights. Perform other tasks as assigned by clinic, region, or corporate leadership. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a human services‑related field. Current Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern under active supervision; ability to obtain unrestricted Florida licensure within 2 years of hire. At least 1 year of counseling experience. Master‑level knowledge of substance abuse and/or telecounseling services preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technological skills; ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, and be dependable and reliable. Physical Demands / Work Environment Finger dexterity: Writing, operating calculator, telephone, keyboard, and other office equipment. Talking: Ability to communicate with patients and coworkers. Hearing: Ability to hear normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Vision: Average visual acuity necessary to observe patients and work on the computer; clear vision at 20 inches or less and distant vision at 20 feet or more. Physical strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time; ability to lift up to 10 lbs; occasional standing, walking, bending or reaching; exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally. Employees may work remotely if approved. Remote employees need a private workspace with a lockable station and a lockable drawer or cabinet. Travel occasionally to treatment centers for training may be required. Working Conditions Office environment with moderate everyday noise. Operate in an open work area.
