Title: Casual Licensed Practical Nurse State Role Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Hiring Range: $34.00-$37.00 Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept of Veterans Services Location: J&C VCC Shift Schedule & Pay Available shifts include: 7:00 am‑3:00 pm, 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm, and 11:00 pm‑7:00 am. Every other weekend only (holidays as needed). Shift differentials: 2nd Shift (3 pm‑11 pm): $3.00; 3rd Shift (11 pm‑7 am): $2.00; Weekends: additional $1.00 + shift differential. Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to residents in a long‑term care/skilled nursing environment. This role delivers high‑quality nursing care, administers medications, monitors resident conditions, and supports the daily clinical needs of residents. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to residents under supervision of an RN and within the scope of LPN practice. Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with facility policy. Participate in admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Work in partnership with nursing Admins, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to deliver comprehensive care. Perform resident assessments and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising nurse or provider. Document all care, assessments, treatments, and observations in the Point Click Care system in accordance with regulatory and facility standards. Assist with care planning and ensure care is delivered according to individualized plans. Provide wound care and other nursing procedures as needed. Maintain infection control standards and promote a clean, safe, and respectful environment. Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff while showing patience and empathy. CPR certification required upon hire or willingness to obtain. Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Knowledge of long‑term care practices, resident rights, and basic nursing procedures. Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, turning, and assisting residents with mobility. Basic knowledge of personal care practices, infection control, and safety procedures. Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition promptly and clearly. Ability to document care activities clearly, accurately, and in compliance with facility standards. Additional Information Previous nursing home, long‑term care, or geriatric experience is preferred but not required. Excluding current DVS employees, the selected candidate must pass a criminal background check.
