The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented, versatile Studio & Brand Photographer who can bring both technical expertise and creative vision to our growing content team.

This isn't a position where you'll simply photograph products against a white background all day. We're looking for someone who understands the full spectrum of modern brand photography, from clean, consistent e-commerce product imagery to highly creative studio campaigns, lifestyle photography, on-body product shoots, and content designed to capture attention across digital platforms.

One day you might be photographing dozens of new products for our website. The next, you could be building an elaborate studio set, experimenting with dramatic lighting, directing a model, or developing a creative concept for an upcoming collection.

You'll have access to an in-house photography studio featuring a full cyclorama wall, professional lighting equipment, and the resources to bring ambitious ideas to life.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just execute a shot list, but actively contributes ideas, experiments with new techniques, and helps elevate the visual identity of Rock 'Em.

What You'll Do

E-Commerce & Product Photography

• Photograph, edit, and retouch high-quality product imagery for our website, marketplaces, and digital marketing channels.
• Maintain consistent lighting, color accuracy, composition, and presentation across a large and constantly evolving product catalog.
• Capture products in a variety of formats, including traditional white-background imagery, detailed product close-ups, creative arrangements, and on-body photography.
• Develop efficient photography and editing workflows to support a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
  

Creative Studio & Campaign Photography

• Conceptualize, plan, and execute creative studio photoshoots for product launches, seasonal campaigns, social media, and advertising.
• Design and build physical studio environments using props, backdrops, lighting, textures, and creative set elements.
• Experiment with lighting techniques, compositions, and visual storytelling to produce imagery that feels premium, original, and culturally relevant.
• Translate creative references, mood boards, and campaign concepts into polished final photography.
• Bring fresh ideas to the table and proactively identify opportunities to elevate our brand's visual presentation.
  

Lifestyle & On-Body Photography

• Photograph apparel and accessories on models, capturing natural, authentic, and visually compelling imagery.
• Direct models through poses, movements, and interactions that highlight product features while maintaining a lifestyle-driven aesthetic.
• Plan and execute both in-studio and on-location photoshoots.
• Coordinate shoot requirements, including props, styling, locations, and shot lists.
  

Digital Content & Creative Collaboration

• Create photography optimized for e-commerce, Instagram, TikTok, paid advertising, email marketing, and other digital platforms.
• Collaborate with our marketing, design, and e-commerce teams to develop and execute visual content strategies.
• Stay current with emerging photography styles, creative trends, lighting techniques, and evolving digital content formats.
• Explore AI-assisted creative tools and modern post-production workflows to improve efficiency and expand creative possibilities while maintaining high standards for authentic product representation.
• Organize, manage, and maintain a growing library of photography assets.
• Balance high-volume production requirements with creative projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
  

What We're Looking For

Photography & Technical Experience

• Strong professional experience in studio photography, product photography, commercial photography, or fashion/lifestyle photography.
• Advanced understanding of studio lighting, including strobes, continuous lighting, modifiers, and multi-light setups.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other professional photography/editing software.
• Experience with professional camera systems, tethered shooting, and studio photography workflows.
• Ability to photograph and retouch products with exceptional attention to detail, texture, color, and consistency.
• Experience photographing models, directing poses, and capturing natural on-body product imagery.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to independently plan and execute a photoshoot from initial concept through final delivery.
  

Creative Mindset

• A strong visual eye with an appreciation for modern apparel, streetwear, sports, lifestyle, and consumer brands.
• Ability to create imagery that feels intentional, elevated, and commercially effective.
• Comfortable developing creative concepts and physically building sets to bring those concepts to life.
• Awareness of current trends in social media, digital advertising, and e-commerce photography.
• Willingness to experiment, solve problems, and push beyond conventional product photography.
• Ability to take creative direction while also contributing original ideas.
  

Bonus Points

• Experience with video production, lighting for video, and short-form content creation.
• Experience in apparel, footwear, accessories, or direct-to-consumer consumer brands.
• Experience with set design, prop styling, and creative art direction.
• Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce content management systems.
• Experience producing content for paid social campaigns and digital advertising.
