CRANE OPERATOR

POSITION SUMMARY The Crane Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials on a work site using a crane in a safe manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.) Operate the crane to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, products, or other large objects Use proper hoisting attachments and observe the load to ensure that it is secure Compare the load weight with the capacity of the crane in order to prevent overloading Perform a pre-inspection on any equipment operated Assist in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being used Manipulate crane controls in a safe manner and direct the crane to the appropriate destination while effectively communicating via written, oral, and/or signaled instructions Obey and follow all safety rules and policies Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE) Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent education 2 years crane operating experience Must be certified as a crane operator through a third party certifier Basic written and verbal skills Ability to preform basic mathematical skills Must be reliable and have the ability to accept responsibility for his/her actions For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand - Occasionally Sit - Frequently Use Hands - Constantly Climb - Occasionally Kneel - Occasionally Lift/Carry over - Occasionally (up to 50 lbs.)
