We're looking for an experienced Recruiter who wants to focus on the most human and valuable parts of recruiting: judging fit, earning candidate trust, and moving great people through a thoughtful process. This is a flexible, remote, commission-only opportunity with uncapped placement-based upside.

Our agency is building a modern recruiting operation for startups and growth-stage companies. We maintain a deep bench of 800+ active openings at any given time, primarily across go-to-market functions such as sales, marketing, and customer success, as well as technical and product roles.

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

You are not starting from an empty desk or being asked to sell recruiting services to companies. We bring the active roles, client relationships, screening criteria, and systems.

You can spend your time doing what strong recruiters do best: talking with people, understanding motivation and fit, and guiding candidates toward the right opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

• Review candidates identified and ranked for assigned roles.
• Do targeted oreach using the role-specific copy and criteria provided.
• Schedule and conduct phone calls with interested candidates to assess experience, motivation, communication, and fit.
• Build trusted relationships through clear expectations, regular check-ins, and honest updates.
• Keep candidates engaged through scheduling, interviews, feedback, and follow-up.
• Prepare qualified candidates for submission and maintain accurate notes and pipeline activity.
• Manage multiple active candidates and roles without letting follow-ups slip.
• When someone is not right for one opening, help connect them with a better fit elsewhere in our active role network.

At the beginning, you will receive a manageable group of roles so you can learn our tools, screening standards, and operating rhythm. Once you have established a strong track record, you can choose from the broader active-role pool and lean into the areas where you are strongest, whether that is GTM, technical, or product recruiting.

OWNING THE CANDIDATE RELATIONSHIP

Candidates are people, not line items. Every active candidate should receive a real conversation, not just an email thread. We expect a phone-first approach, consistent check-ins, and thoughtful follow-through even when there is no immediate update.

If a candidate is not selected for their first role, the relationship should not end. You will understand what they want, what they do well, and where else they may fit. Keeping that relationship warm creates better outcomes for candidates, clients, and recruiters.

COMPENSATION

This is a commission-only position with no base salary.

• Earn 20% of the placement fee our agency collects from the client.
• Receive a guaranteed minimum of $2,000 per successful placement, even when the underlying client fee is smaller.
• Earn a $300 assist bonus when a candidate whose relationship you own is ultimately placed through a different role or recruiter.
• No cap on placement earnings.

As an illustration, a role with a $21,000–$28,000 placement fee would generate approximately $4,200–$5,600 in recruiter commission at the 20% rate. Client fees and salary bands vary, so this example explains the mechanics and is not a promise of earnings.

Placement commissions are generally released in installments approximately 30, 60, and 90 days after the candidate's start date, reflecting the client's payment and guarantee schedule.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Maintain at least 3 active candidates across assigned roles.
• Produce at least 3 qualified submission every weeks for each active role.
• Complete at least 3 substantive phone conversation, whether vetting or check-in, each week with every active candidate.
• Keep accurate, current notes and move candidates through the pipeline consistently.
• Participate in a 30-day pipeline-activity check-in and a 90-day results check-in.

WHO WILL THRIVE HERE

• You have prior recruiting experience in an agency, in-house talent team, staffing firm, or a comparable environment.
• You have personally vetted candidates and managed a recruiting pipeline.
• You communicate clearly, warmly, and consistently by phone and in writing.
• You are organized enough to manage multiple active relationships without dropping the ball.
• You can distinguish a hard requirement from a preference and make evidence-based fit decisions.
• You are comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• You understand and are genuinely comfortable with commission-only, placement-based compensation.
• You care about long-term candidate relationships, not transactional outreach volume.

GROWTH PATH

Strong performance can lead to a Senior Recruiter path with higher commission and first choice of priority roles. Recruiters who demonstrate consistent judgment, candidate care, and results may also grow into Team Lead responsibilities, including mentoring newer recruiters and helping with difficult fit decisions. Over time, recruiting management opportunities may also become available.
