Job Title

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Fullerton, CA | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform sterile vaginal exams independently and without supervision as a core requirement of this role
• Conduct triage assessments for obstetric patients in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
• Commit to working weekends, including potentially exceeding every-other-weekend to meet unit needs, and working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; 2+ years preferred
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (hard stop — no exceptions)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NRP
• Demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently without supervision
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard rates (locals within 50 miles may be considered at an adjusted rate)
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of initial submission; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Prior experience floating to Mother Baby units
• Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
