OVERVIEWPrepares and cooks meals from scratch by following recipes, using proper cooking methods, and ensuring food is safe, high-quality, and appealing. Maintains a clean, sanitary kitchen, manages supplies, and works both independently and as part of a team to provide excellent service.Schedule: 40-hours per weekLocation: Mercyhealth Freeport Hospital, Freeport, ILPay Range: $17.34 - $27.74ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDetermines food items and prepares them for serviceIs able to prepare food from scratch that is appetizing and appealingAbility to execute culinary knife skillsReads and follows standardized recipesCooks and/or prepares food in quantities according to menu, par level and number of persons to be servedCooks to orderObserve and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.Dishes mealsOrders suppliesMaintains proper food temperature log sheetsMaintain proper cooking/quick chill log sheetsPortions and dishes food on plate according diet ticket.
