Work Environment\nAs a remote position, the Licensed Geriatric Mental Health Counselor will work in a fully telehealth environment, allowing for flexibility and convenience. Regular work hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. You will utilize leading telehealth platforms to conduct sessions, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care with your patients while complying with all legal and ethical documentation standards.

- Conduct thorough mental health assessments specific to geriatric patients, evaluating cognitive function, emotional wellbeing, and psychosocial factors. \n
- Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic interventions, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders. \n
- Implement therapeutic strategies including individual therapy, family counseling, and crisis management interventions during mental health emergencies. \n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geriatric psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to deliver comprehensive and holistic care. \n
- Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and available community support resources to empower informed decision-making. \n
- Maintain thorough and confidential case documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. \n
- Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and training programs to foster professional growth and improve patient care strategies. \n
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in geriatric psychiatry to enhance treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes. \n

Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, particularly with geriatric clients. \n
- Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic models. \n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build rapport and trust with elderly clients and their families. \n
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with various virtual therapy tools. \n
