The RN is expected to perform their duties according to established standards of care and the core values established by the Division of Nursing. Reports to assigned Unit Director.Roles and Responsibilities:Assess patients with a variety of needs. Use a person-centered care approach in the development of care, and effectively prioritize patient needs that are both expected and unanticipated. Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact with other health care professional and patients. Demonstrate competence and resourcefulness in the implementation of the technical skills required to care for the patient. Demonstrates initiative in remaining current in the organization and department policies, procedures, and standards. Evaluates effectiveness of care giving, shows follow through on delivery, demonstrates critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions, proactively addresses actual and potential problems, and executing compliant clinical documentation. Assist with educating patients and families and serves as a resource on department standards for patient care.This is a full-time position that includes on call coverage typical schedule-1 night a week, 1 weekend a month. The unit is staffed Monday-Friday with 8 or 10 hour shift options ranging from 6:15am-6:00pm. Required Skills and Experience:Current NYS Registered Nursing1 year of Endoscopy RN preferredWill obtain BLS during introductory period.
