Equity Research Associate

Fundamental Research Group (FRG) Associate – Capital Group Role Summary As an FRG Associate, you will collaborate with investment professionals and peers to deliver investment‑driving insights through deep fundamental research and financial analysis of small‑ and mid‑cap companies. Responsibilities Conduct bottom‑up equity research and analysis across industries. Create and update financial models to evaluate company performance. Draft investment reports and supporting charts/visualizations. Facilitate meetings with management teams, sell‑side firms, and industry experts. Generate and monitor investment ideas and holdings within a diverse coverage universe. Participate in the investment process as a key contributor. Take on progressively complex projects under mentorship. Qualifications Minimum 2+ years in equity research, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or a related field. Strong background in detailed financial modeling and fundamental analysis. Experience working with sell‑side firms, industry consultants, and regulatory filings. Proficiency in developing charts, visualizations, and written reports. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Team‑oriented, inquisitive, and adaptable to varying work styles. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, STEM, or a related field. Preferred: familiarity with Python, SQL, LLMs, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar data platforms. Occasional travel for research trips. Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary (Southern California: $141,648‑$226,637; San Francisco: $165,185‑$264,296; NewYork: $150,155‑$240,248).
