Pediatric Private Duty Nurse (LVN/RN) – Lackland area

Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN Opportunities Available

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide one-on-one care for pediatric and young-adult patients in their homes in the Converse area.

Case Details

• Patient: 6-year-old female

• Care Needs: Tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube care; ambulatory (High Acuity)

• Day Shifts: Wednesday–Friday and Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

• Night Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 PM–6:30 AM

• Additional Details: Attends school in SAISD

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to the assigned patient

• Assess the patient’s condition and document observations

• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies

• Monitor and manage G-tube and respiratory needs

• Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care when assigned to a high-acuity case

• Perform vital signs and ongoing nursing assessments

• Communicate changes in condition to the nursing supervisor and/or physician

• Educate and support family members and caregivers

• Complete accurate and timely documentation in Kantime

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Texas RN or LVN license

• Current CPR certification

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and transfers

• Pediatric or high-acuity experience preferred but not required

• Willingness to complete required in-office and on-site training
