STATUS: Full time JOB TITLE: Access Associate DEPARTMENT: Unity OB/GYN Support Services LOCATION: OB/GYN - Clinton Crossing - 995 Senator Keating Blvd Bldg E Suite 210 Rochester, NY 14618 SCHEDULE: Days, Mon-Fri, 8am-430pm SUMMARY In a customer service oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representative to collect required registration data, to include but is not limited to; demographic and financial data as well as obtain required signatures, communicates mandated patient information and verifies all information for accuracy. Process includes but is not limited to insurance verification, obtaining precertification/authorization, co-payment collection and communicating with patient and/or their representative with regards to their financial assistance needs. RESPONSIBILITIES Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information. Greeting of patients and/or their representatives and providing direction as needed. Scheduling and/or prescheduling patient appointments. Interviewing the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completing the registration process as defined by deparmental policy. Identification of services where no payment source has been identified to be followed up by communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements. Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage and obtaining necessary precertifications/authorizations when applicable. Collecting/processing co-payments, deductables and/or other types of payments. Provides an estimate of cost when applicable. Reviews charges in charge review WQs for completeness and accuracy. Ensures the accuracy of all data collected while meeting the regulatory requirements as outlined by the departmental policy. Communication with external customers such as but not limited to; payers, physician offices and other departments. Accurately sets up new patient record via Care Connect. If qualified, may be asked to interpret on occasion. Performs other duties as assigned. *RGMG Only: Flexibility and transportation to other medical group locations or other affiliated locations required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree One year of customer service experience Intermediate computer skills Excellent customer service and communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67-100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver's license. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
