Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Weekend shifts 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) | Onsite | 6-Week Assignment | 35 Guaranteed Hours (after breaks) | Scrubs Provided

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 direct patient care before, during, and after surgery across a range of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Endoscopy, and GYN, serving neonate through geriatric patient populations.
• Perform and document all surgical counts, specimen handling, labeling, and cultures per established standards and procedures.
• Execute circulating duties including managing the sterile field, pouring and labeling sterile solutions, opening sterile items, and overseeing flash sterilization processes.
• Perform Pre-op and Post-op patient care addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment and plan of care.
• Communicate continuously with the Surgeon and Anesthesiologist regarding patient condition and demonstrate appropriate priority development in emergency situations.
• Safely operate mechanical, electrical, and powered equipment per manufacturer instructions; demonstrate knowledge of anesthetic drugs, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, spinal and epidural catheters, and proper documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and multi-population patient care settings
