And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Rockwell Automation is seeking an Engineering Manager – Hardware to lead a high-performing team responsible for the development of industrial control products, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), I/O systems, and communication devices.In this role, you will manage a team of hardware engineers and technicians delivering products from concept through release—managing requirements, architecture, design execution, certification, and production readiness. You will help shape next-generation industrial platforms and driving engineering excellence across programs.You will collaborate with leaders across Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to deliver high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. This is a global, that requires, technical depth, and experience with building both products and people.This role will report to the Senior Manager of Hardware Engineering.Your Responsibilities:Lead and Develop TeamsManage and mentor a team of 15–20 hardware engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and growthDrive performance management, career development, and talent planningDrive Product Development ExecutionOversee all phases of hardware product development: requirements, architecture, design, validation, certification, and production releaseEnsure designs meet quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturability targetsChampion Engineering ExcellenceUphold strong engineering practices in architecture, design integrity, and verificationDrive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and capabilitiesLead Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to align on product strategy and executionDrive alignment across global and cross-site teamsOperational & Strategic LeadershipLead organizational or functional initiatives (e.g., talent development, process improvements, tool adoption)Serve as a project sponsor for key product developmentsDeliver ResultsEnsure predictable execution against program milestones and business objectivesDrive a "right-first-time" mindset in product design and implementationFoster Culture & EngagementCreate an inclusive, high-performance work environmentRemove barriers and eliminate non-value-added work to maximize team effectivenessThe Essentials - You Will Have:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent years of relevant work experience.Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job openingThe Preferred - You Might Also Have:Typically requires 5+ years of experience in technical leadership or people management functions within electronic hardware development (design through release)Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fieldExperience delivering products in regulated environments (e.g., CE, IEC 61010)Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (SAFe)Experience developing embedded hardware systemsExperience with industrial automation products or complex system-level designsExperience working with global, distributed teamsExperience with project leadership or program management responsibilitiesExperience with functional safety (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511) and/or cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443)Experience managing external partners or 3rd-party engineering resourcesWhat We Offer:Health Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision401kPaid Time offParental and Caregiver LeaveFlexible Work Schedule where you will work with your manager to enjoy a work schedule that can be flexible with your personal life.To learn more about our benefits package, please visit at .This position is part of a job family.
