Must-Have:
1 year of MRI experience.
Experience with Siemens equipment is required.
Philips experience is preferred.
Travel experience is preferred.
Level II trauma experience is a plus.


Description:
The department has 4 scanners and will staff 2 travelers.
There is a mobile unit, but there will also be permanent staff available.
Travelers will not have to float to other areas.
Common imaging and studies performed include musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal and pelvic studies, radiation oncology, and breast imaging.
Travelers will work with patients requiring pacemakers and anesthesia, as well as ICU and NICU patients.
The department performs an average of 30 scans/studies per day due to long protocols.
They use PACS: McKesson or Changed Health Care for imaging.
The equipment includes Siemens, and a Philips scanner will be acquired.
A full-time supervisor is available on each shift.
Though a lead tech may not be scheduled, a senior tech will be present.
Will be hiring Registered Radiology Assistants soon.
Radiologists are available in-house during the day, primarily for interventional radiology.
The majority of MRI readings are conducted remotely.
Starting IVs is required in this position.
Shifts are generally 4-10s.
Weekend work is only required if hired specifically for weekend shifts.
During weekends, the department sees a high volume of inpatient cases and fewer outpatient cases.
Typically, outpatients without contrast are managed on weekends.
There are no call or standby requirements, although volunteering for shifts are options if short-staffed.
Dress code includes black scrubs with a black or gray jacket; fleece is not permitted; a black or gray undershirt may be worn under scrubs.
There will be 1-2 weeks of unit-specific orientation.
The charting system used is MEDITECH.
This position does not require a BSN.
No specific trauma level is indicated in the job description.
Care setting is acute.
