Audit Manager - (Traded Products-GAAP/IFRS)

Role: Senior Internal Auditor (Auditor‑in‑Charge) responsible for overseeing audit work for lines of business, driving risk‑based audit strategy, and ensuring compliance with audit policies. Responsibilities Executes audit strategy for risk‑based auditing by defining audit scope, audit programs, and drafting audit reports leveraging automation and innovative methods. Acts as Auditor‑in‑Charge by overseeing audit testing, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality standards, audit policies, and procedures. Assesses impacts to business processes, controls, and strategies; provides recommendations on severity ratings and escalates broad themes or trends based on business knowledge. Exercises intellectual curiosity and judgment to influence and challenge management to improve the control environment and drive continuous improvements. Oversees a team of associates, provides day‑to‑day mentoring and guidance, and fosters an inclusive work environment. Maintains business partner relationships primarily with line management to develop business knowledge. Engages product, business, and technical expertise to challenge management and improve the control environment. Serves as a subject‑matter expert on accounting matters, focusing on US GAAP treatment of banking and traded products. Evaluates and opines on the appropriateness of accounting treatment under US GAAP, including management interpretations, estimates, and adjustments impacting financial results. Provides expert challenge and insight on differences between US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting frameworks, assessing audit and control implications of those differences. Oversees planning, execution, and quality of SOX testing for assigned areas, evaluating control design and operating effectiveness, and assessing impact of identified deficiencies. Required Qualifications Fully qualified professional accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) or a degree in accounting or related field. Minimum eight years’ work experience, majority in a financial reporting function or similar within a large multinational bank. Understanding of banking products. Experience evaluating processes and operational risks to identify controls and gaps. Experience with data management and governance. Experience in risk, testing, compliance, audit or related functions. People‑leadership experience. Strong communication and collaboration skills to build team relationships. Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive mindset and effective time‑management skills. Results‑driven and detail‑oriented mindset. Desired Qualifications Experience as an Auditor‑in‑Charge overseeing audit jobs with timely execution and alignment to audit standards and policies. Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP accounting, IFRS, and relevant European GAAP frameworks. Experience applying U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and applicable European frameworks to bank‑traded products. Auditor or similar certification. Project management experience. Ability to influence, drive change, and resolve conflicts. Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Excel, SQL) preferred.
