Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs detailed inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards and engineering specifications. This role focuses on visual and dimensional inspections of aviation parts, from individual components to full assemblies, and plays a key part in maintaining product reliability and safety in a manufacturing environment.

• Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, final products, and first article parts to verify compliance with quality standards and engineering drawings.
• Measure product dimensions using precision instruments and assess functionality to confirm conformance with technical specifications.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections on aviation parts, ranging from small components to complete assemblies.
• Compare products against engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to identify deviations and nonconformances.
• Document inspection results by completing detailed reports, logs, and nonconformance records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist in corrective action investigations by providing inspection data, identifying root causes, and supporting the implementation of corrective measures.
• Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, inspection outcomes, and any defective products discovered during the inspection process.
• Calibrate measuring instruments and equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability of inspection results.
• Work closely with production staff to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues and deviations from established guidelines.
• Communicate quality concerns, findings, and potential solutions clearly to supervisors and management.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on recurring quality issues and suggesting process enhancements.

• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills, supported by references.
• At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• At least 2 years of experience using measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Practical experience in quality control, quality assurance, and inspection activities.
• Ability to perform accurate quality checks and quality inspections on a variety of parts and assemblies.
• Proficiency in using calipers and other precision measuring tools for dimensional verification.
• Strong documentation skills for recording inspection results, nonconformances, and test procedures.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with production teams and reporting quality issues.

• Experience as a Quality Inspector or in a similar quality assurance role is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of quality control standards and testing techniques is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with calibration practices for measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in environments handling aviation parts or complex assemblies.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings and technical specifications in a production setting.

Work is performed on the production floor, using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, along with inspection equipment for visual and dimensional checks. The setting is hands-on and detail-oriented, with close collaboration between quality and production teams to maintain high standards of product quality and consistency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belgrade, MT.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Belgrade,MT.
