General Duties Participate in the care of patients under the supervision of the manager/director and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Measure and record vital signs and identify abnormal values to report findings to the appropriate provider. Assist with clinic flow: patient arrival, procedures, scheduling, and exit. Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and procedures. Observe patients for signs of abuse/neglect and report immediately; recognize emergencies and respond per policy. Perform non‑complex procedures such as dressing changes, administer medications or vaccinations, collect and prepare specimens, and perform point‑of‑care testing as permitted. Maintain medication inventory, monitor refrigeration logs, and ensure proper disposal of expired medications. Document clinical tasks and testing in the patient medical record; complete required paperwork and maintain patient privacy. Navigate the Electronic Medical Record to obtain lab and imaging results, update patient demographics, and schedule follow‑up appointments. Prepare safety reports when warranted and assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory standards. Maintain a clean, safe clinic environment, implement standard and transmission‑based precautions, perform hand hygiene, and report hazards to the clinic manager. Participate in quality improvement processes, including QAPI projects and emergency operations center rounds. Assist with clinic preparation, operate equipment (computers, printers, scanners), obtain outside medical records, scan documents, and answer the telephone. Consult with the clinic manager, keep them informed of activities, requirements, and problems, and maintain strict patient confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications Valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana. American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.
