Responsibilities include developing and training AA student‑athletes, preparing practice schedules, fostering discipline and teamwork, and maintaining positive relations with athletes, parents, and community. The role involves frequent walking, standing, light lifting, close contact with student‑athletes, and regular travel to matches. Qualifications Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations Ability to develop and train AA student‑athletes Personal skills that reflect positive relations with high school student‑athletes, parents, and the community Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of basketball Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules Ability to develop a solid discipline that emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship Previous coaching experience required; preference for those who hold or are eligible for a Virginia teaching license Basketball coaching/playing experience helpful; after‑school and weekend hours.
