Environmental Engineer Locations: US-VT-Montpelier | US-NY-New York City | US-NJ-Manasquan | US-NJ-Newark Overview ABOUT THE POSITION Environmental Engineer or Geologist - Site Investigation & Res&ml;ediation Montpelier, VT; New York, NY; Newark, NJ; Manasquan, NJ VHB is seeking an emerging Environmental Engineer or Geologist/ Hydrogeologist for our growing National Site Investigation & Res&ml;ediation practice. Responsibilities Provide hands-on support during field exploration and testing related to site investigation and remediation including the collection of environmental media samples Prepare and adhere to site specific health and safety plans Prepare clear and accurate documentation of field exploration and testing activities Coordinate with laboratory and drilling subcontractors Oversee and document the work of subcontractors (e.g., drillers and test pit excavation contractors) Review and communicate investigation findings to team members Enter and manage environmental data in databases or other environmental data management systems. Participate in environmental due diligence activities Prepare technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Skills and Attributes Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in geoenvironmental consulting Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory processes Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., EQuIS, GIS Systems and AutoCAD) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers Recognize and manage business risk Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented Ability to work in field and office settings Recognize and help to identify business risk Minimum Qualifications BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology 1-3 years of environmental or geoenvironmental consulting experience OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000 in Montpelier, VT; $83,000-$88,000 in Newark/Manasquan, NJ; and $88,000-$93,000 in New York City. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
