You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.* Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.## Job Title:Social Worker - IRP## Department:James | Social Work**SCOPE OF POSITION**Provision of social work services to inpatients, outpatients and their families in The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute**POSITION SUMMARY**Social work services include psyschosocial assessments, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, discharge planning, health education and the provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies. Social work services are provided to patients/families to meet their medically related social and emotional needs as they impact on their medical condition, treatment, recovery and safe transition from one care environment to another. Core competencies include: Psychosocial assessment, counseling and crisis intervention skills, Knowledge of the PASAAR process for extended care facility placement and the assessment and counseling processes involved, knowledge of home healthcare set-up process and skills assessing neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence.**Minimum Education Required**Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience**Required Qualifications**Master of Social Work from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work; State of Ohio Social Work licensure (LSW or LISW) or equivalent education/experience.## Additional Information:## Location:James Cancer Hospital (0375)## Position Type:Intermittent## Scheduled Hours:0.2## **Shift:**Varying Shifts***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
