Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills. Management of vasoactive drips. Description: Unit has 36 beds. Patient ratios are 1:3 for AM shifts, 1:4 for PM shifts, and 1:4 or 1:5 for nights with patient care techs. Typically, total RN-based care with no techs. Unit secretaries are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM and are available for various resources. Equipment includes BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps. Documentation system used is Meditech. Full-time staff work 36 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. Part-time staff work 48 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. PRN staff requirements vary based on shift commitments and weekend rotations. Rotating holiday schedule is in place. Floating policy allows PRN staff to float once per week and FT/PT staff float based on schedules. Patient experience initiatives include bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds. Unit is a Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation and STEMI accreditation. Best personality fit includes a positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a team. Dress code requires charcoal grey scrub tops and either charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. Unit has recognition as Unit of Distinction Honorable Mention in 2018. Additional features include designated education units and new cardiac monitors for rhythm visibility in patient rooms.
