Registered Nurse Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Lab

Overview Sentara Heart Hospital is located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. We are hiring a Registered Nurse for the EP Lab. The RN is responsible for delivering competent nursing care using the nursing process and meeting professional practice standards, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards in specific clinical areas. City / State Norfolk, VA Work Shift Multiple shifts available. Cardiac Procedural Recovery Care & Short Stay Unit Our unit is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. We admit and recover patients mostly during the day and provide care for overnight stays. Overnight population consists of post‑cardiac procedure patients, some ED and transfer patients awaiting procedures. The ideal candidate will have cardiac experience and be comfortable reading telemetry independently. The unit prepares and recovers patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, Minor Procedure Room, and Cardiac OR for surgery. Types of procedures include Cardiac Catheterization (interventional and diagnostic), Electrophysiology procedures such as ablations, cardioversions, surgeries, and ICD/Pacemaker implantations.
