Also responsible for implementing all physician orders, obtaining signatures on consents, and providing for continuity and quality of nursing care for patients. Performs tasks like: Evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care needs of the post-operative or post-procedural patient population;Assesses and maintains adequate ventilation, hemostasis and circulation; assessing level of consciousness, providing pain management, and ensuring the safety of the patient until transfer to another unit; andObserves patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate from an accredited nursing program Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Indiana Healthcare BLS, ACLS & PALS certification. (ACLS & PALS certification must be obtained per department guidelines) Two (2) or more years pre-operative nursing experience Experience with cath lab patients a plus.

HIGHLY PREFERRED:

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) Three (3) or more years pre-operative or pre-admitting nursing experience OR recovery room or PACU nursing experience
