The Relationship Banker I position serves as a teller and customer service advocate for banking customers. This role focuses strongly on building banking knowledge and supporting the company's strong reputation for excellence and reliability through the reinforcement of exceptional service standards.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a pleasant, proactive approach to work, with the desire to expand their knowledge and abilities in the banking industry. The Relationship Banker I should have the ability to cross-sell and promote products, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide professional phone and in-person assistance to customers. Communication skills and the ability to remain organized and composed in many situations will be critical to the Relationship Banker I's success.
The Relationship Banker I provides essential cash-handling, sales, and customer service functions to banking customers. They assist in the onboarding and training of Banking Services Associates and continually build their skills in the banking industry.

Essential duties include delivering exceptional customer service, handling customer calls professionally, ensuring accurate cash management, providing comprehensive transactional services, promoting and cross-selling bank products effectively, counting, verifying, and packaging coin and currency accurately, addressing customer inquiries and resolving routine issues confidently, maintaining a well-stocked teller station, setting and achieving sales goals, operating and balancing branch equipment, scanning and balancing teller work, handling stop payments and holds, providing detailed account information, assisting customers with documentation, creating thorough documentation for customer transaction inquiries, offering overdraft services, maintaining and balancing vault cash, supporting the retail banking team with daily reconciliation and balancing issues, adhering to all bank policies, regulations, and laws, and assuming responsibility for additional projects and tasks as assigned.
Education and certifications required include a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum requirements include excellent communication skills, a positive and proactive approach to work, proficiency in processing customer transactions, ability to identify and pursue sales opportunities, ability to resolve discrepancies or errors in customer accounts, critical-thinking skills, strong organizational and time management skills, mathematical proficiency, proficient computer literacy, intermediate typing skills, current driver's license and reliable transportation, ability to work weekends, holidays, and at other locations as needed, and the ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
Additional qualifications preferred include an associate's degree in business administration or a related field.
