As part of a collaborative team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), you will care for a diverse patient population while building strong clinical skills in a supportive environment.With a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and 1:12 CNA-to-patient ratio, you will play a vital role in comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and promoting patient comfort and safety. Our unit fosters teamwork, open communication, and professional growth, empowering you to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes every day.How you'll contributeA Med/Surg CNA who excels in this role:Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.Why join usWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Licenses: Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care.Education: High school diploma or equivalent, requiredMore about Harris Regional Medical CenterPeople are our passion and purpose.
