The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as an active EPA Certification.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPerform routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etcDiagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systemsInspect and test system components to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with industry standardsConduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systemsAssist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipmentInterpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to assess and repair HVAC systemsService, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial Chiller and Refrigeration EquipmentComfortable and knowledgeable in electrical including electrical components, timers, contactors, relaysAdhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements related to HVAC and refrigeration systemsResponsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site, customer interfaceProvide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and system improvementPrepare and present detailed service reports to customersACCOUNTABILITIESContinual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industryElite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needsORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENTThis position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers.Steam Boiler and Condensing Boiler experience requiredValid Driver License w/acceptable driving recordActive EPA Certification5+ years’ of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with ChillerOSHA 10 certificationTechnical training in HVAC or RefrigerationAvailable to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as neededStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsBEHAVIORAL PROFILELanguage SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer by checking in and out with them on jobs. Able to explain the problems and resolution in a manner that the customer can understand. Closely communicate issues/concerns/updates with account managers on jobs.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks. Help take lead over and teach helpers and tech I’s.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
