Learn more about our benefits.**Key Responsibilities**Directs a large process technology group responsible for research, development and implementation in new products and extensions or enhancements to existing product linesManages exceptionally complex, practical applications of scientific theory and processes in the development and ongoing technical management of the divisionInteracts and offers solutions to address external customers High Value Problems (HVP) on exceptionally complex process issues involving the division/segmentLeads strategic planning efforts to integrate research and development processes with both the unit and the Product Business Group's overall business planProvides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting process technology managers in the area of long-term strategy related to process developmentDefines performance metrics and reports on organization's progress against specific goalsResponsible for alpha engineering program regarding all process technology related issues for the division/segmentResponsible for alpha and beta product release for the division/segment**Functional Knowledge*** Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices as well as the changing business environment**Business Expertise*** Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition**Leadership*** Leads a business unit, department or sub-function generally through multiple levels of managers of diverse activities; develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives**Problem Solving*** Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions**Impact*** Guided by company strategy and business objectives, impacts results of segment/function**Interpersonal Skills*** Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issuesPosition requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times.
