Airline Tooling SpecialistSTS Technical Services is hiring an Airline Tooling Specialist in Denver, Colorado, to support aircraft maintenance tooling operations at Denver International Airport.This is a 3- to 4-month contract assignment working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position may offer an opportunity for direct employment based on performance, business needs and client requirements.Position OverviewThe Airline Tooling Specialist supports aircraft maintenance operations by maintaining, organizing, issuing, receiving, inspecting and tracking tools and equipment.This position plays an important role in tool accountability, inventory accuracy and calibration tracking while ensuring maintenance personnel have access to the equipment required to support safe and efficient aircraft maintenance operations.ResponsibilitiesIssue aircraft maintenance tools and equipment to maintenance personnelReceive returned tools and equipmentMaintain accurate tooling and inventory recordsInspect returned tools for condition, damage, cleanliness and completenessIdentify missing, damaged or unserviceable toolsInitiate required reporting and replacement processesMaintain organization and accountability within tool rooms and designated storage areasVerify tool identification and serial numbersConfirm inventory records are accurateSupport aircraft maintenance tool control proceduresAssist with calibration trackingVerify calibrated tools are properly identified and available for useMonitor calibration due datesCoordinate removal and replacement of tools requiring calibrationAssist maintenance personnel with locating required tools and equipmentPerform periodic inventory countsReconcile tooling and inventory discrepanciesMaintain documentation for tool issuance and returnsMaintain calibration recordsDocument damaged or missing equipmentSupport periodic and wall-to-wall inventory auditsFollow airline, FAA, OSHA and company safety proceduresFollow established tool-control proceduresMaintain a clean, organized and safe work environmentWork closely with aircraft maintenance personnel, supervisors and support departmentsPerform additional tooling and inventory duties as assignedQualificationsAbility to accurately track and maintain inventory recordsStrong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsAbility to identify and resolve inventory discrepanciesBasic computer skillsAbility to learn inventory and tool-tracking softwareAbility to read and understand tool identification and serial numbersAbility to interpret equipment documentationAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced airline maintenance environmentDependable and punctualAbility to work effectively as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience working in aircraft maintenance, airline, MRO, tool room, warehouse or inventory operationsFamiliarity with aircraft maintenance tools and equipmentPrevious experience supporting Part 121 airline maintenance operationsAircraft tool room or tooling experienceExperience with aircraft maintenance tooling and calibration programsExperience conducting physical inventory countsExperience supporting wall-to-wall inventory auditsFamiliarity with FAA maintenance and tool-control requirementsExperience using airline or MRO inventory management systemsSecurity RequirementsMust successfully pass a criminal background checkMust meet all requirements necessary to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badgeMust maintain eligibility for airport and airline security access throughout the assignmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to frequently bend, reach and stoopAbility to move throughout the work areaAbility to lift and carry tools and equipment as requiredAbility to work safely around aircraft, ground support equipment and maintenance activitiesWork EnvironmentThis position is based at an airline maintenance operation at Denver International Airport.Work may be performed in a tool room, warehouse, maintenance facility or other operational areas supporting aircraft maintenance.
