Job Description

Global Electronics Association, the global trade association for the electronics manufacturing industry, seeks a CUSTOMER SUPPORT SPECIALIST (CSS). The CSS provides service and support for customer and member orders, membership, and technical support. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Educate customers about products and services and cross-sell. Guide customers to online resources. Monitor issues, provide necessary follow-up, and maintain consistent service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

Phone Support

\n

\n
• Apply product, service, and policy knowledge to address caller questions, complaints, and issues.
\n
• Deliver prompt, accurate solutions that make customers and members feel valued.
\n
• Listen, clarify, and de-escalate upset customers and members.
\n

\n

\n

Order Processing

\n

\n
• Process orders accurately and ensure same-business-day responses.
\n
• Manage portal orders and PO invoices.
\n
• Review member POs and request corrections or missing details.
\n
• Attach POs and correspondence to term orders; send confirmations and receipts.
\n
• Resolve backorders, coordinate fulfillment, and update customers on ship dates.
\n
• Resolve shipping issues, including customs and invalid accounts.
\n
• Verify quality complaints and report them to fulfillment.
\n
• Approve web orders within the expedited SLA.
\n
• Process exchanges, returns, authorizations, and credit memos.
\n
• Document order status in case notes.
\n

Case Management and Technical Support

\n

\n
• Verify and update customer records before processing transactions, creating records when needed.
\n
• Resolve DRM issues by resetting files and explaining restrictions.
\n
• Report website issues and submit helpdesk tickets.
\n
• Resolve failed payments.
\n
• Apply payments to order and membership quotes and invoices.
\n
• Partner with accounting to resolve order and billing issues.
\n
• Research credit holds and advise customers.
\n
• Complete Vendor Setup forms and secure required approvals.
\n
• Answer technical questions about IPC Standards.
\n
• Follow up on assigned cases using documented procedures.
\n
• Build trust with customers, members, and internal teams.
\n
• Recommend products and services that meet customer needs.
\n
• Resolve inquiries or escalate them to the support lead or colleagues.
\n

Certification Support

\n

\n
• Support IPC trainers, training centers, and individuals.
\n
• Help customers with certification, training, and testing platforms.
\n
• Meet trainers’ urgent needs during classes.
\n
• Resolve exam and grade issues for students and trainers.
\n
• Resolve tickets with accurate certification and training guidance.
\n
• Resolve customer certification issues.
\n
• Correct certification data and sync exam funds as needed.
\n

Membership Support

\n

\n
• Answer membership questions by email and phone.
\n
• Explain benefits, recommend membership options, and support member resources.
\n
• Process new and renewed memberships within the expedited SLA.
\n
• Coordinate membership issues with regional teams.
\n
• Support management, teams, and assigned projects.
\n
• Support APEX EXPO and other events as needed.
\n
• Review NetSuite workflows, recommend improvements, and test updates.
\n
• Represent the customer’s voice on cross-functional teams.
\n

REQUIREMENTS

\n

\n
• Must be able to work 8am – 5pm, M – F.Training for the first 3 months will be 8am – 5pm.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent.
\n
• At least 3 years of customer service experience.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of IPC standards (training provided).
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
\n
• Strong Microsoft Office and CRM software such as Salesforce, NetSuite, or Microsoft CRM skills.
\n
• Proficiency with standard office equipment, including headsets, phones, and computers.
\n
• Preferred: Customer service certification or related education.
\n
• Preferred: IPC Trainer certification or equivalent standards knowledge.
\n
• Preferred: Order and financial transaction processing experience.
\n
• Preferred: NetSuite or Salesforce experience.
\n

The pay range for this position is $25+ per hour. The Association considers education, experience, internal equity, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting payrates. In addition to compensation benefits, Global Electronics Association offers a variety of health and welfare benefits, based on eligibility, including job status/hours worked each week.
