Job Title: Program Manager Hardware Development (Contract)
Job Description
This contract Program Manager role focuses on driving cross-functional progress and resolving engineering change requests across hardware, software, and firmware development. You will lead task forces, manage backlogs and service-level agreements, and support new product development escalations while working within existing product lifecycle management processes.
Responsibilities

• Drive cross-functional burn-down of all non-software and non-firmware RCOs that require engineering approval, ensuring timely resolution and clear ownership.
• Drive burn-down of all RCOs that require AWS approval, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to remove blockers and close actions.
• Monitor and drive RCO service-level agreement (SLA) compliance, identifying risks early and implementing corrective actions.
• Drive burn-down of the software and firmware update RCO backlog, prioritizing issues and tracking progress to completion.
• Collaborate with engineering and product lifecycle stakeholders to define and implement a more effective process for managing software and firmware updates within current PLM capabilities.
• Aggressively drive adoption and execution of the new SW/FW update process while maintaining alignment with existing tools and workflows.
• Support non-build New Product Development escalations, helping teams triage issues, coordinate responses, and maintain momentum toward launch.
• Establish and lead cross-functional task forces as needed to resolve complex RCOs and escalations, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
• Use Excel to track, analyze, and report on RCO status, SLA performance, and backlog metrics.
• Prepare and deliver clear, concise PowerPoint presentations to communicate progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Program Manager in hardware development.
• Proven project management skills, including planning, tracking, and risk management in hardware programs.
• Experience driving resolution of hardware-related RCOs and managing engineering change processes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish, lead, and influence cross-functional task forces.
• High proficiency in Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• High proficiency in PowerPoint for preparing and delivering stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to work effectively within existing product lifecycle management (PLM) capabilities and processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple RCO backlogs and SLAs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and understanding of hardware test activities.
• Experience in coordinating software and firmware update processes in a hardware development environment.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Ability to identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for RCO and update management.

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $67.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
