FreightWise was voted one of the Best Places to Work by the Nashville Business Journal.Summary: As the Freight Broker, you will be critical in truckload operations, building strong relationships with shippers and carriers, negotiating competitive freight rates, and managing full truckload shipments from start to finish. This role is ideal for a driven, results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by performance-based earnings.What you will do:Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with shippers and carrier partnersUnderstand customer needs and deliver customized truckload freight solutionsSource, vet, and secure qualified carriers for full truckload shipmentsNegotiate rates with customers and carriers to achieve target marginsManage shipments end-to-end, ensuring on-time pickup and deliveryServe as the primary point of contact for customers and carriers, resolving issues proactivelyStrengthen the Truckload Operations function by documenting and communicating best practices and SOPsMonitor market trends, freight rates, and industry conditions to support informed pricing decisionsEnsure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policiesMaintain accurate records, load documentation, and transactional dataCollaborate closely with operations, support, and leadership teams to deliver an excellent customer experienceWhat you will need:Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited four-year college or university2–4 years of related experience in freight brokerage, transportation sales, or a similar roleStrong knowledge of freight, transportation, and logistics operationsProven sales, or business development experience (transportation industry preferred)Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skillsProficiency with freight tools (e.g., DAT, Truckstop) and Google SuiteAbility to communicate professionally, written and verbal.Strong problem-solving skills, adapt quickly in dynamic situationsHigh level of self-motivation with the ability to work independentlyStrong multitasking, time management, and organizational skillsAbility to calculate commissions, percentages, and pricing metrics accuratelyRegular use of hands, speaking, hearing, lifting, moving, extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorshipWhat we provide:Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTDCompany-paid life insurance $50k401(k), with matchPaid Time Off11 Paid HolidaysHybrid work and flexible schedulesGreat work environment with opportunity for growth
